Raider Band Students and Parents,
Wow! It was great seeing SO MANY people at Parent Preview! What a fun way to end Summer Band 2018! I hope you were all able to get some fun pictures of family members holding instruments and learning to march as well! Big thanks to Mrs. Carrie DeLoach, the booster events coordinator and our other booster parents for all the work with the concession stand as well!
We’ve been talking about these statements with all of our students in class this week and over summer band, but I wanted to share with all of you, our families, as well. Our band vision statement is “As performing members of the Raider Band, we believe in the pursuit of passionate performance while maintaining an inviting environment for all.” Additionally, our school’s new vision statement is “Live with Integrity, Act with Compassion, Strive for Excellence.” We will continue to talk about what these mean as we move forward through the year together.
As we discussed with all the students on Thursday, the way that our ensemble will reach its fullest potential is when the students are present in rehearsal. When students are sick, a parent needs to let us know about their child’s illness. Please send all attendance-related issues to Ms. Velasquez at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you!
Band Fee Member Deposit Due Monday
If you're following the payment plan, the next deposit, for $150, is due Monday 8/20. Checks made out to CRHS Band or Cash should be turned in to the safe in the band hall. Credit Card payments are now available as well online at http://crhsraiderband.org/new-products/band-fees-not-booster. As always, thank you for your support of this band program!

Band Olympics 9am-3pm at the Track Stadium! This is a student-led event where the different sections compete against each other playing different types of “field games”. Do not park inside the gated area of the track/baseball/concessions area. Thanks!

All students will be “passing off” their marching music for a director this year. We reviewed all of the details in class on Thursday.
As a reminder from my email last week, the Parent GroupMe will end on Monday 8/20. Please make sure you’ve downloaded any videos or pictures you want to keep. The boosters will transition to the “Remind” app. If you wish to be added, send the message “crraiderbb” to the number “81010” to be enrolled in their reminders.
Reminders from Previous Email Communication
For our first game, we’ll wear our show shirt, khaki shorts, black socks, and marching shoes on August 31st. If you do not own a pair of khaki shorts please purchase some between now and the first game.
Please make sure you have the appropriate items for game day preparation (buy your own). Water Jugs, Black Spandex/Compression Shorts (this is what you wear under your marching band uniform), and long black socks are needed to be able to participate with the band.
